Bedfordshire bird news May 2021
A singing male Savi’s Warbler at the Derek Whites Eggs Pits, Bigglewade was a first for Bedfordshire 6th-12th.
A male Golden Oriole was at Willington 22nd and a female type was at Knotting Green 19th. A Hoopoe was seen in a garden at Biddenham 18th.
A male Pied Flycatcher was at Blows Down briefly 22nd. Also, at Blows Down was a Ring Ouzel 14th and 20th-21st.Three Ring Ouzels were at Hawkesbury Meadow and singles were at Sandy 1st and Bison Hill 9th.
A Black Tern was at Broom GPs 10th and five Arctic Terns were at Brogborough Lake 23rd. A Kittiwake was at Grovebury SP 23rd.
Up to three Wood Sandpipers were Broom GPs 2nd-3rd and others were at Black Cat GPs 2nd.
