Bedfordshire bird news March 2025
A Purple Heron flew east over Tempsford 30th and a Hoopoe was at Sutton 12th. A Temminck's Stint was at Broom South Quarry 28th. Other highlights there were a Spotted Redshank 6th & 10th, Little Tern 21st and Wood Sandpiper 29th
A female Pied Flycatcher was at RSPB The Lodge 29th and a Ring Ouzel was at Pegsdon Hills 8th & 17th. Single Black Redstarts were at Potton 5th & 16th, Bedford 7th, Pegsdon Hills 8th & 12th, Bedford 13th and Wigmore CP 22nd and two were at Brogborough Hill 8th.
Up to eleven Arctic Terns were at Priory CP 15th and up to two Little Gulls were there intermittently 23rd-30th. A Black Tern and a Little Gull were at Coronation Pit 29th.
