Bedfordshire bird news April 2024

A Hoopoe was seen in a garden between St Albans & Harpenden 12th. A Spoonbill was at Broom GP before heading off north 28th.

 

Up to seven Ring Ouzels were at Blows Downs and up to three were at Pegsdon Hills. Three Ring Ouzels were also seen at Kensworth Quarry 20th and another was at RSPB The Lodge 25th. Waxwings were seen at Biggleswade until 11th.

 

There were a handful of Arctic Terns with singles at Stewartby Lake 10th, 20th & 23rd, Grovebury SP 15th and two were at Priory CP 23rd. A Little Tern was at  Stewartby Lake and Rookery Pits 28th.
