Hertfordshire bird news February 2025

A Red-necked Grebe was at Amwell NR on Sheepcote Farm Lake 21st-27th and the Smew remained on Great Hardmead Lake. A Scaup was there 3rd and another was at Rye Meads RSPB 28th. A Kittiwake was at Amwell NR 20th.

 

A Ferruginous Duck was at Pynesfield North Lake or Pynesfield South Lake 27th-28th and a up to three Black-necked Grebes were at Troy Mill Lake. A Black Redstart was at Berkhamsted 2nd.
