Hertfordshire bird news February 2026
A drake Ferruginous Duck was at Maple Lodge NR 6th-16th.
Up to two Smew were at Amwell NR throughout February and a Black-necked Grebe was there from 14th. Single Smew were at Startop's End Reservoir 8th, Marsworth Reservoir 7th-20th and Wilstone Reservoir 16th & 22nd.
A Tundra Bean Goose was at Cheshunt 13th and at least seven White-fronted Goose were at Aspenden 22nd.
A Little Gull was at Wilstone Reservoir 4th and three were at Hilfield Park Reservoir 5th. A Kittiwake was at Fairlands Valley Park 24th.
