Hertfordshire bird news December 2021

 

A Red-head Smew was in the Lee Valley at Amwell NR throughout December. There was a small influx of White-fronted Goose from mid-December with up to eight birds at Wilstone Reservoir and another at Stanborough GP and Lemsford.

 

A Little Gull was at Amwell NR 30th. Several Hawfinches were seen at a few scattered sites including up to six at Wormley Westend, up to five at Hitch Wood and a couple at Bramfield.
