Hertfordshire bird news September 2024

A Yellow-browed Warbler was briefly at High Wych 22nd. A Pied Flycatcher was at Heartwood Forest 4th and St Albans 7th. A Common Redstart was at Baldock 5th, North Mymms Park 12th and Batford horse paddocks 13th. A European Honey-buzzard flew south over Baldock 23rd.

 

Highlights at Wilstone Reservoir were Garganey 1st, Little Gull 11th, Black Tern 25th-27th and Arctic Tern 27th. Up to three Garganey were at RSPB Rye Meads until 10th. A Common Scoter was at Stanstead Innings 8th-17th and another was at Bowyers Water 22nd. A Little Stint was at Tyttenhanger GPs 14th.
