Hertfordshire bird news April 2021

A Pied Flycatcher was briefly at Tyttenhanger GPs 12th. A Wood Warbler was at Ivel Springs at Baldock 21st and another was at Amwell NR 28th.

 

An exceptional flock of fifty-five Kittiwakes were at Hilfield Park Reservoir 6th with one remaining until 11th. Two Black Terns were at Wilstone Reservoir 25th. Other highlights there were at Kittiwake 6th and Avocet 22nd plus the odd Little Gull. There were four Black Terns at Startop’s End Reservoir plus up to fourteen Little Gulls and four Arctic Terns 23rd.

 

Ring Ouzel were found at the following locations: two Coleman Green 5th, Stanborough Pits 7th, Tewin 8th, two Norton Green 9th, Weston 7th-10th, Kellshall 12th, Easneye 16th-21st and Kingsbourne Green Pit 21st-29th. A Black Redstart was at Batford 15th.
